We are looking to support and mentor UK based BAME colleagues through their Google for Education certifications.
If you are a UK based Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) educator interested in learning more about how to embed technology into your practice, then this free event is for you. This year’s school closures due to COVID-19 cemented the importance of an effective digital strategy. Stand out by continuing to develop your ability to teach, assess and communicate with learners both in school and at home.
Google for Education offers G Suite, which is a series of free tools (e.g Slides, Classroom and Assignments) that allow teachers and learners to collaborate online. Google provides training and certifications for Educators who are keen to showcase their proficiency in using G Suite for learning. For many Educators completing the certifications has led to improved student outcomes in their classrooms and given them the credibility to lead the evolution of their organisation’s digital culture. Many have seen real career progression into leadership roles in their current schools or found opportunities elsewhere. Others have used their school-based experience and certification to migrate into exciting Educational Technology (EdTech) consultancy roles, where they deliver continuing professional development (CPD) for Educators both nationally and internationally.
However, we have seen the underrepresentation of BAME colleagues within the EdTech sector and so have launched this initiative to support and mentor BAME Educators through their Google for Education certification journey.
